None Stop Action
Once the practice sessions started the action never stopped. Cars were constantly sliding around the turn 10a, 10b complex. You could smell the burnt tires and clutches in seats. I don't see Drift Atlanta going away anytime soon. |

<--- Why this race opitimizes drifting
This race was between Alex Phiffer, a long time independent Toyota drifter and Team MOPAR driver Samuel Hubinette. Sam went on to win the event in his new Viper but only after barley beating Alex in his 14 yr.old 4 banger. This race was so close the judges and the crowd demanded they run again. These guys proved why Drifting is so awesome. The fact you can have a honest competition between two such cars is amazing. Driver skill is what matters here not corporate backing and huge power. In no other form of motorsports could a Corolla shut the door on a Dodge Viper. But here it did and it was incredible. See you next year. |
